My pregnancy

It all started in Nov 2008, when me and my hubby went on our yearly trip back home to India.
It was almost 2 years after marriage, and my In laws n parents  were all inquiring about when do we intend to start a family? Not that I cared much about what they had to say on this topic, but this just gave me something to ponder about, and ya it was then that my mind was diverted away from the career front to the family way.
And then in no time, there it was- that little blue line on the pregnancy test! Followed by the ups and downs of this very special time.  Cant forget how anxious we were to spill the beans with our family and friends!!
The 1st trimester was pretty awful. It started as waves of nausea at six weeks. By 9 weeks I was almost throwing up every morning and was rushing to the loo every now and then.
The 2nd trimester was better, but it did make me move into larger, looser clothing.I found out that I'm having a little girl, and we were elated to hear that!!
The 3rd trimester felt like the last few miles of a marathon, you're tired, ran down and yet you're excited because you can see the finishing line is in sight.Well this was by far my favorite phase of the whole pregnancy, its when you start to feel the kicks from junior and really start to feel the excitement, anticipation and joy of the impending birth and I knew by now that my life was about to change forever and for the better.
Amaira was born healthy and gorgeous, at 11.56 pm, weighing 3.40 kg.I was ecstatic to have her in my arms but was utterly dazed and exhausted by the labour. It took about half an hour before the happy hormones kicked in!I was a MUM now, and I knew that it is such a small word, but it actually carries a huge amount of meaning, doesn't it?
